Description

In a treat for longtime fans and new audiences alike, The Pokémon Company has made the first three Pokémon anime movies available to stream for free on their official Pokémon TV YouTube channel.

This limited-time initiative brings Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon: The Movie 2000, and Pokémon 3: The Movie into the spotlight once again, celebrating decades of Pokémon adventures in cinematic form. Pokémon: The First Movie originally debuted amidst the global Pokémon craze of the late 1990s.

The film, starring Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, and friends, features a dramatic confrontation with Mewtwo, a genetically engineered Pokémon created from the DNA of the elusive Mew.

After escaping from the laboratory that birthed it, Mewtwo challenges some of the world’s top Trainers—including Ash—in an unforgettable showdown.

The movie explores themes of identity, friendship, and the powerful bonds between humans and Pokémon.

When Mewtwo attempts to level the playing field by creating powerful Pokémon clones, Ash’s commitment forces both Pokémon and Trainer to question the true meaning of their connection. Following the excitement of the debut film, fans can now also enjoy Pokémon: The Movie 2000.

Live on the Pokémon TV YouTube channel, this movie introduces Lawrence, a Trainer on a quest to capture the three Legendary bird Pokémon—Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres—in a dangerous bid to awaken Lugia, the sea guardian.

As the legendary trio is disturbed, environmental chaos threatens the world, and Ash is tasked with gathering elemental orbs to restore balance.

With Lugia’s guidance, Ash takes on the role of the “chosen one,” facing challenges that test courage and trust in the Pokémon universe.

Rounding out the trilogy, Pokémon 3: The Movie is also scheduled for release on the same platform.

Each film represents a landmark moment in Pokémon cinematic history, offering fans of all ages a chance to revisit Ash and Pikachu’s early adventures or discover them for the first time. A spokesperson for The Pokémon Company shared through their YouTube channel: “Pokémon movies arrive on our Pokémon TV YouTube channel!
