The announcement, posted on the official Pokémon UNITE website, covers both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions and outlines immediate changes, a final in-game event, and competitive tournament plans through the service end.
End-of-service timeline and immediate changes
The company confirmed that March 23, 2027 00:00 UTC will mark the official end-of-service for Pokémon UNITE on all platforms.
In conjunction with the announcement, the team has suspended all real-money transactions.
Aeos Gem sales are discontinued immediately, new UNITE Club memberships are no longer available, and automatic renewals for existing UNITE Club memberships have been halted.
The developer clarified that active UNITE Club subscriptions will remain usable until their current expiration date but will not auto-renew after that point.
In short, all paid monetization channels have been closed effective immediately.
Final in-game event and library feature
To give players access to legacy content, TiMi Studio Group and The Pokémon Company will run a final event from Thursday, November 12, 2026 until the end-of-service.
The event will make Unite Licenses (playable Pokémon) and Holowear from the game’s full history obtainable by players.
Alongside those items, a library feature will be offered: players can download data that allows continued login and viewing of certain records and in-game content after servers shut down.
The announcement stresses that library data must be downloaded before service ends, cannot be transferred to new devices, and will not receive support after the servers close.
Aeos Crown 2027 competitive schedule
Despite the overall shutdown, the Aeos Crown 2027 competitive circuit will proceed.
Qualification tournaments are set to begin on December 5, 2026, and the Aeos Crown 2027 Finals are scheduled for March 20–21, 2027 in Tokyo.
Organizers confirmed these dates to ensure the year’s competitive conclusion takes place before service termination.
Legacy and impact
Pokémon UNITE launched on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021 and on mobile devices on September 22, 2021.
During its run, the title was included as a competitive event at the Pokémon World Championships following its launch and earned industry recognition: it won Mobile Game of the Year at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards and was named Best Game in Google Play’s Best of 2021 awards.
It was also nominated for Best Mobile Game at the 2021 Game Awards.
For Switch and mobile players, the official announcement is the definitive source for timelines and download instructions for the library feature.
With a clear shutdown date and final competitive events scheduled, Pokémon UNITE will enter its final months of live service on established platforms through March 2027.
