The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokemon UNITE, the free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) developed in partnership with TiMi Studio Group and first released for Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021, will end service on Tuesday, March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC.

The game later launched on mobile platforms via the App Store and Google Play, and has been available to players through the Nintendo eShop on Switch since its debut.

In an official statement, The Pokémon Company expressed gratitude to players who have engaged with Pokemon UNITE since its launch and confirmed several measures and schedule changes leading up to the end of service.

The company said it will hold a special in-game event through the final day of service and will proceed with the previously announced Pokemon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament.

Key dates and service changes announced by The Pokémon Company:

- End of service: Tuesday, March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC.

After this time, players will be unable to log in or participate in battles.

- Aeos gem sales: Sales have been suspended as of the announcement date; players may continue to spend Aeos gems they already own until service ends.

- UNITE Club memberships: New UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals were suspended as of 05:00 UTC on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Existing members retain membership benefits until the end of their current membership period.

- Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo: Qualifier tournaments are scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 5, 2026, as part of the Aeos Crown competitive schedule.

- November 12, 2026 update: The game will receive an update that includes a special event and a new “library” feature.

During the event, players can obtain items such as Unite Licenses and Holowear previously released in the game.

The company noted that players who complete the required library data download before March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC will retain access to certain records and in-game content via the library feature after service ends.

Players who do not complete this download before the cutoff will not be able to use the library post-shutdown.

The Pokémon Company also said that after service ends it will no longer publish or maintain the Pokemon UNITE Game Content Guidelines for Online Platforms and will cease providing support regarding use of Pokemon UNITE video and images.

Players with questions were advised to contact Support prior to the March 23, 2027 deadline.

The announcement marks a definitive end date for a title that brought a MOBA-style experience to Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms under The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group’s collaboration.
