Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Expansion Announced, Launching March 2025

The Pokémon Company has officially revealed the next major expansion for its beloved Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together.

Set to launch globally on March 28, 2025, this new expansion celebrates the enduring collaboration between Trainers and their Pokémon by reviving the iconic Trainer's Pokémon cards.

The expansion will be available via the Pokémon Center, select stores, and the Nintendo eShop, though pre-orders for popular versions such as Booster Packs and Elite Trainer Boxes have already sold out at many retailers. Journey Together marks a significant milestone for the Pokémon TCG franchise.

The expansion contains over 180 new cards, featuring more than 40 Trainer’s Pokémon.

Notably, players can find the likes of N’s Zoroark ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, and Hop’s Zacian ex among the new releases.

In addition to these standout cards, the set introduces over 15 new Pokémon ex, more than 15 unique Trainer cards, as well as 30+ Pokémon and Trainer cards with special full-art illustrations designed to captivate both competitive players and collectors alike. Trainer’s Pokémon cards hold a special place in TCG history, first debuting 25 years ago in the Gym Heroes set.

Known for highlighting the crucial bond between Trainers and their Pokémon, these cards feature the Trainer’s name prominently at the top, alongside an accompanying portrait.

The return of this fan-favorite mechanic aims to evoke nostalgia while introducing these beloved concepts to a new generation of players on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch and digital TCG experiences.
