The campaign, which went live in early June 2026, reached its $15,000 funding goal and published a tiered roadmap that links additional features and physical rewards to higher funding milestones.
Lethal Wedding is billed by Mega Cat Studios as a “love letter to 16-bit shooter classics” and has been in public view since its 2024 announcement for Genesis/Mega Drive.
The title draws heavy inspiration from Zombies Ate My Neighbors and features two-player couch co-op, a dodge-roll ability, 30 levels, animated cutscenes, 25 upgrades driven by a Vow System, and an arsenal of wedding-themed weapons.
The developer showcased the game at the MAGFest Indie Video Game Showcase earlier in the year, where it received hands-on attention from attendees.
In a press response about earlier delays, Mega Cat Studios said it never announced an official release date, noted that project priorities sometimes shift between studios, and affirmed enthusiasm for delivering Lethal Wedding to fans of Sega’s 16-bit era.
The studio added that the MAGFest reception reinforced confidence in the project and promised further announcements in the coming weeks.
Following the campaign passing its baseline goal, Mega Cat published specific stretch targets and rewards:
- $45,000 — Bill Tiller special key art cover: LucasArts artist Bill Tiller, known for background art on The Curse of Monkey Island and contributions to The Dig and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, will produce exclusive key art.
If met, all physical edition backers can select the cover as an alternate, and Limited Edition backers receive a poster of the key art.
- $50,000 — Fatman and Team Fat Deluxe OST CD: A physical soundtrack by veteran composers George “The Fatman” Sanger and Joe McDermott (Team Fat) will be produced, with backers also receiving a digital copy of a FAT coloring book.
- $60,000 — Nintendo Switch port: A Switch release is slated if funding reaches this level.
- $70,000 — Xbox port: The game would be ported to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
- $80,000 — PlayStation port: A PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release is planned at this tier.
The campaign offers digital and physical tiers, with the lowest pledge starting at $20.
Mega Cat Studios has also promised behind-the-scenes video interviews with Bill Tiller, George Sanger, and Joe McDermott to be released in the days following the campaign update.
The studio’s roadmap and these confirmed collaborations are now public and tied directly to the Kickstarter’s stretch milestones.
