Pokémon Scarlet and Violet continues to engage its extensive Nintendo Switch player base with the launch of new in-game events, underscoring The Pokémon Company’s dedication to ongoing content updates.
Launched in November 2022, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has rapidly become one of the fastest-selling titles on the Nintendo Switch, with worldwide sales exceeding 24 million units as of April 2024.
Now, trainers have an exciting opportunity to participate in a freshly introduced 5-Star Tera Raid event and a Ground-type Mass Outbreak, running through the end of August.
From August 18th until August 31st, 2025, players can challenge a unique 5-Star Tera Raid featuring a Shiny Ting-Lu, one of the formidable Legendary Pokémon introduced in the Paldea region.
While Shiny Ting-Lu cannot be captured during these raid battles, The Pokémon Company has set a global participation goal to drive player engagement: if the community collectively clears the Shiny Ting-Lu Tera Raid over one million times by the event’s conclusion, all trainers will receive a special Shiny Ting-Lu distributed via Mystery Gift.
The distribution is scheduled to begin on September 5th, 2025.
This collaborative challenge provides a fresh incentive for trainers to coordinate with friends and participate in the high-difficulty raid, reinforcing the appeal of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s cooperative gameplay features on Nintendo Switch.
As outlined by the official Serebii source, the event remains available until August 31st at 23:59 UTC, ensuring ample time for players worldwide to contribute to the milestone.
Concurrent with the Tera Raid event, The Pokémon Company has also launched a Ground-type Mass Outbreak event featuring increased spawn rates and enhanced chances to encounter Shiny Pokémon.
The event spotlights several Pokémon across various regions: Paldean Wooper appears in Paldea, Mudbray in Kitakami, and Drilbur at Blueberry Academy.
The Mass Outbreak event is also active until 23:59 UTC on August 31st, 2025, further expanding the incentives for trainers to return to the game and capture rare species.
These back-to-back events demonstrate The Pokémon Company’s continued support for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet well beyond launch, keeping the Nintendo Switch community engaged with limited-time content and special distribution campaigns.
With the combination of high-value raids, community milestones, and increased Shiny encounter opportunities, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet remains a central focus of attention in the Nintendo Switch eShop landscape for 2025.
