Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Launch New Shiny Chi-Yu Tera Raid and Fire Mass Outbreak Event

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players on Nintendo Switch have a new challenge to tackle this September, as The Pokémon Company launches a special event featuring a Shiny Chi-Yu Tera Raid and a Fire-type Mass Outbreak.

The initiative continues the trend of engaging online events within the iconic franchise, designed to reward player participation and drive ongoing engagement with the titles. The latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet 5-Star Tera Raid Battle event, which began on September 1, 2025, spotlights the elusive Shiny Chi-Yu.

Available until 23:59 UTC on September 14, 2025, this powerful raid encourages players to collaborate and test their battling prowess.

Although Shiny Chi-Yu cannot be caught directly from the raid, The Pokémon Company has introduced a community-driven goal: if participants collectively clear the raid more than one million times, a Shiny Chi-Yu will be distributed to all players via Mystery Gift.

According to official statements, this special distribution is scheduled to begin on September 19, 2025. During the same period, fans can also participate in a Fire-themed Mass Outbreak event.

This event increases the appearance and Shiny odds of select Fire-type Pokémon across different regions in the games.

The featured encounters include Charcadet in Paldea, Vulpix in Kitakami, and Numel at the Blueberry Academy.

Like the Tera Raid, the Mass Outbreak will run until September 14, 2025, providing trainers with ample opportunity to add rarely-seen Shinies to their collections.
