Description

The Pokémon Company has swiftly addressed and resolved a significant technical issue affecting Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Mightiest Mark Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant Tera Raid events.

As a flagship release for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have continued to captivate trainers worldwide since their debut, and ongoing support through Tera Raid events ensures fresh gameplay opportunities for the community. The Tera Raid events in question, which are accessible through the Switch eShop, are special battles that allow players to challenge rare or unique Pokémon with exclusive marks or abilities.

However, a recent bug had prevented cross-version participation: Pokémon Scarlet players found themselves unable to access the Mightiest Mark Iron Valiant Tera Raid, while Pokémon Violet players were similarly blocked from joining the Mightiest Mark Roaring Moon Tera Raid.

This cross-restriction was highly unusual, as previous Tera Raid events had not imposed such limitations on cross-version play.

For dedicated trainers, this bug also meant missing a crucial chance to capture the opposite version’s Paradox Pokémon – a feature that enhances the collection and trading ecosystem integral to the Pokémon franchise. Upon recognizing the issue, The Pokémon Company moved quickly to release a patch across all regions.

In an official statement, the company confirmed that the bug has been fixed, and players are now once again able to join Event Tera Raids from the opposite game version.

This restoration of functionality means both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet players can participate in the full range of Mightiest Mark Tera Raids, regardless of their edition, on their Nintendo Switch consoles. Importantly, the resolution of this bug brings an additional benefit: trainers can now capture both Paradox Pokémon — Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant — even if they have previously caught them during earlier events.

This is a welcome update for completionists and competitive players alike, supporting greater team customization and collection diversity.

The Mightiest Mark Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant Tera Raid event will remain available until October 12th, 2025.

Players are encouraged to take advantage of the extended event duration to ensure they do not miss this renewed opportunity. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet continue to demonstrate The Pokémon Company and developer Game Freak’s commitment to a dynamic and engaging online ecosystem for Nintendo Switch users.

Fans can stay up-to-date on the latest events, bug fixes, and new features by following official announcements or checking the Switch eShop for updates.
