Pokémon Pokopia Launches on Nintendo Switch 2 with Exclusive Hoppip Event

Pokémon Pokopia, the latest life simulation title from The Pokémon Company, is now available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Celebrated for its cozy gameplay and engaging world, Pokémon Pokopia invites players to immerse themselves in a relaxing setting filled with their favorite Pokémon.

To mark the game’s debut on the Switch 2, a special in-game event is launching next week, offering fans a unique opportunity to engage with limited-time content and rewards. Beginning March 9, 2026, and running through March 24, 2026, the game’s first official event, 'More Spores for Hoppip,' will be accessible to players.

This exclusive event allows trainers to befriend Hoppip and gather its signature cotton spores.

These collectible spores can be traded in for picnic-themed furniture items, designed to help players craft an inviting habitat for their Pokémon companions.

By decorating with these exclusive items, players can unlock the ability to befriend additional Pokémon, specifically Skiploom and Jumpluff. According to an official statement from The Pokémon Company, Skiploom and Jumpluff will not appear in any other context outside of this limited-time event.

Furthermore, the event will only be available in towns where the Pokémon Center has been rebuilt, and it will not be accessible on Cloud Islands, making it a truly unique celebration for dedicated players. To add to the excitement, a complimentary in-game Ditto rug is available for all trainers through the Mystery Gift menu via internet connection until January 31, 2027.

This decorative item provides fans with another way to personalize their in-game experience. Outside of the event content, Pokémon Pokopia is also introducing new avatar options for Switch Online subscribers.

Four waves of Switch Online icons have been announced, with the first wave currently live.

Players can redeem these special icons for 10 Platinum Points each, giving them more ways to showcase their fandom and customize their profiles. Pokémon Pokopia’s arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2 underscores The Pokémon Company’s ongoing commitment to expanding the Pokémon universe across new hardware platforms.

With exclusive events, creative in-game décor, and fresh online features, the game offers long-time fans and newcomers alike a fresh way to experience the world of Pokémon.
