Pokémon Pokopia Invites Fans to Celebrate with New NSO Profile Icons on Nintendo Switch

Pokémon Pokopia, the latest spin-off in the iconic Pokémon franchise, has officially landed on Nintendo Switch, winning praise for its unique blend of creature rehabilitation and creative island-building.

Developed and published by Nintendo, this title invites players to revitalize a desolate island into a sparkling sanctuary for Pokémon—combining relaxing sandbox elements with the franchise’s beloved monster-collecting gameplay.

In celebration of the release, Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) subscribers are being treated to a fresh set of exclusive profile icons inspired by Pokémon Pokopia, available through a limited-time event. Starting March 4, 2024, players can head to the Nintendo Switch Online section on their console and redeem Platinum Points for custom Pokopia-themed icons.

These tokens of in-game achievement and fandom are available over four weekly waves, each spotlighting different Pokémon and letting users personalize their NSO profile.

The first wave features Ditto and Pikachu, two enduring fan favorites.

Over subsequent weeks, additional icons become available, catering to returning players and series newcomers alike. The NSO Pokopia icon event schedule is as follows: - Wave 1: March 4, 5:00 p.m.

PT – March 11, 4:59 p.m.

PT (Ditto, Pikachu) - Wave 2: March 11, 5:00 p.m.

PT – March 18, 4:59 p.m.

PT (another Pikachu design, Tangrowth) - Wave 3: March 18, 5:00 p.m.

PT – March 25, 4:59 p.m.

PT (Mosslax, male Ditto) - Wave 4: March 25, 5:00 p.m.

PT – April 1, 4:59 p.m.

PT (Smeargle, female Ditto) Nintendo confirms that each wave lasts one week, with new icon designs debuting as the event progresses.

While the website has not detailed all available backgrounds or border designs, previous icon releases on the eShop have included a selection of decorative elements, allowing further customization. Participating in the NSO Pokopia icon promotion is simple: Switch users must possess Nintendo Switch Online membership and a balance of Platinum Points, which can be earned by completing missions such as playing certain games or using the Nintendo eShop.

Players can visit the NSO app on their Switch to exchange these points for the latest wave’s Pokopia icons before they rotate out each week. With Pokémon Pokopia building on the strong legacy of Nintendo’s innovative spin-offs, this NSO icon event not only helps commemorate the launch but also offers dedicated players a fresh way to express their Pokémon fandom in the Switch community.

Be sure to claim each wave’s exclusive icons and check back weekly as the event continues through April 1, 2024.
