A new seven-minute trailer has arrived for the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, with the spotlight on Part 1: Bubbly Basin.

The developer-released footage confirms that Part 1 of the paid DLC will be available on August 5, 2026, and that the core game is playable on Nintendo Switch 2.

Alongside the paid content, a Ver 2.0.0 free software update will be issued the same day for all owners.

Trailer summary and release timing

The trailer runs roughly seven minutes and emphasizes underwater exploration and construction in Bubbly Basin.

The publisher confirmed the Part 1 launch date as August 5, 2026, while Part 2 of the Expansion Pass is slated for release in late 2026.

The publisher also stated that more specifics about Part 2 will be shared at a later date.

What Bubbly Basin adds to gameplay

Bubbly Basin is presented as a submerged town where new mechanics and Pokémon interactions change the way players build and farm.

According to the announcement, Pokémon with the Water specialty can assist in growing watermelons, and Pokémon with the Generate specialty can power bubble machines and activate streetlights.

The DLC introduces new Pokémon to discover, additional outfits for player customization, a power-up for the move Surf, and a newly added prepared food option: smoothies.

The trailer also demonstrates exploration beneath the sea floor: players will traverse an opening to a dark deep-sea area and follow glowing coral on adventures with partner Pokémon.

Building receives a notable expansion via buoyant blocks, which enable structures that float at different levels and are unique to underwater construction.

The footage shows a Sharpedo submarine concept players can craft to create rooms reminiscent of a Secret Base.

Part 2 and Ver 2.0.0 free update

Part 2, scheduled for late 2026, will add wearable accessories so players can dress alongside their Pokémon, as well as additional furniture pieces and more Pokémon.

The publisher confirmed the timing but did not expand on the full Part 2 feature list.

Separately, the Ver 2.0.0 free update—available to everyone who owns Pokémon Pokopia on August 5—will let players learn the move Dive from Manaphy.

Once learned, Dive enables swimming alongside Water-type Pokémon and supports underwater building in the new areas.
