Pokémon Legends Z-A Update 2.0.1 Enhances Mega Shards Limit and Mega Dimension DLC Fixes

Pokémon Legends Z-A, developed jointly by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, continues to evolve on the Nintendo Switch platform with its latest Version 2.0.1 update, released officially on January 21, 2026.

This major update expands the game's item management features and addresses several gameplay issues, particularly within the Mega Dimension DLC, further cementing Pokémon Legends Z-A as a flagship RPG of the Nintendo Switch era. Pokémon Legends Z-A has built a strong following since its launch, offering a fresh take on the Pokémon formula with open-world exploration and novel mechanics such as Mega Evolution integration.

The new patch, Version 2.0.1, directly addresses player feedback by introducing significant improvements to item handling—most notably, a massive increase to the maximum capacity of Mega Shards a player can carry, raising the limit from 999 to an impressive 9,999.

Mega Shards remain a crucial resource, scattered throughout the game world and vital for triggering Mega Evolutions or unlocking additional content in the Mega Dimension DLC. Another notable adjustment relates to the purchasing and collection of berries, a staple resource for in-game healing and stat-boosting.

With this update, players can now buy multiple berries at a time from food stalls, streamlining the resource management process.

Furthermore, after beginning the story components of the Mega Dimension DLC, players are given access to berry purchases from the clerk at Nouveau Café’s Truck No.

3, offering more convenience and flexibility within the expanded narrative. Beyond item management, the update also delivers a series of targeted fixes that enhance the overall user experience, particularly for players engaging with the Mega Dimension DLC.

For instance, an earlier issue that caused Pokémon to face the wrong direction when using moves in certain hyperspace locations has now been resolved.

The patch also addresses a problem where the game's weather would remain perpetually sunny, improving the realism and challenge of in-game battles. A significant fix covers the Mega Evolution Pokédex: shiny Pokémon obtained prior to the DLC release will now be correctly registered once their corresponding Mega Stones are acquired.

Visual inconsistencies encountered during missions, where unrelated scene images would display, have also been corrected.

Additionally, the notorious bug blocking completion of side mission 188, "Start Special Scanning!", after achieving maximum survey points has been resolved; affected players should now find progression possible after engaging with the hyperspace feature again. For detailed patch notes, interested players can consult the official Nintendo eShop update page or The Pokémon Company’s website.

With these refinements, Pokémon Legends Z-A on the Nintendo Switch offers a richer and more seamless experience for trainers diving into the Mega Dimension DLC and beyond.
