The Pokémon Company has announced an exciting slate of updates coming to Pokémon Unite, its popular free-to-play MOBA available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding the game’s roster, Pokémon Unite will be introducing more Mega Evolution Pokémon starting in October 2025, with Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X headlining the upcoming additions.
Pokémon Unite has been a staple of strategic team-based battles since its launch in July 2021, engaging players across Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms.
Developed by TiMi Studio Group in partnership with The Pokémon Company, the title has continued to grow, boasting regular updates and a diverse range of Pokémon to battle with on Aeos Island.
Kicking off the Mega Evolution rollout, Mega Lucario is set to join the games’ lineup on October 3, 2025.
Three weeks later, Mega Charizard X will make its highly anticipated debut on October 24, 2025.
The Pokémon Company has confirmed that two additional Mega Evolution Pokémon will also join Pokémon Unite before the end of this year, further expanding the dynamic options available to both casual and competitive players.
In an official statement published on Pokémon Unite’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the company confirmed: "Even more Mega Evolution Pokémon are coming to #PokemonUNITE soon! Mega Lucario will join the fray on October 3, and Mega Charizard X will follow on October 24.
Plus, two more Mega Evolution Pokémon will arrive on Aeos Island by the end of 2025."
These significant updates build upon an already busy autumn for the game.
Prior to the Mega Evolution introductions, new Pokémon like Pawmot will join the roster on September 4, 2025, followed by Empoleon on September 19, and additional arrivals including Dhelmise and Vaporeon later in the season.
Additionally, legendary Pokémon Groudon is set to make an appearance on the Theia Sky Ruins map.
Groudon will emerge as part of the map’s legendary encounters, also from September 4, bringing fresh strategic opportunities for veteran players.
Pokémon Unite’s continued support with new content demonstrates The Pokémon Company’s dedication to keeping its active community engaged and invested.
With these updates, players on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms can look forward to a deeper, ever-evolving gameplay experience.
