Nintendo is ramping up excitement for the highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A by partnering with Mexican wrestling giant Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) for a uniquely themed wrestling event.
This collaboration took place on June 25, as part of an ambitious marketing campaign to celebrate the forthcoming release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
The event immersed attendees in the Pokémon universe, with the arena decked out in Pokémon Legends: Z-A branding, including vibrant colors and prominent logos from the game.
The spectacle was heightened by the participation of top Mexican wrestling stars dressed as the iconic Pokémon Machamp and Hawlucha, both of whom feature prominently in the new title.
Over the course of roughly two and a half hours, fans witnessed a series of exhilarating singles and tag team matches, culminating in a main event pitting Team Hawlucha against Team Machamp.
Representing Team Hawlucha were wrestling luminaries Místico, Máscara Dorada, and Titán.
On the other side, Team Machamp consisted of Volador Jr., Hechicero, and Bárbaro Cavernario.
The collaboration received widespread attention, further demonstrating Nintendo’s creative approach to connecting with dedicated Pokémon fans and the broader Nintendo Switch community.
