Mega Hawlucha Officially Unveiled for Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2

Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the highly anticipated installment from Game Freak for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, continues to excite series fans with fresh announcements.

For the second consecutive week, a new Mega Evolution has been confirmed—this time shining the spotlight on Mega Hawlucha.

As part of the new wave of Mega Evolutions reintroduced in Legends: Z-A, this reveal builds even more hype ahead of the game’s global launch set for October 16, 2025. Hawlucha, known for its show-stopping wrestling style and athletic prowess, receives a significant transformation through Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

In official materials shared by The Pokémon Company, Mega Hawlucha is described as an entertainer and fighter, boasting strengthened muscles that allow it to withstand incoming attacks before unleashing powerful counterattacks.

After drawing opponents into attacking, Mega Hawlucha expertly retaliates, aiming to leave foes reeling and open to its signature move, Flying Press, intended to secure a dramatic victory. In terms of in-game data, Mega Hawlucha retains its Fighting/Flying typing and the Wrestling Pokémon category.

The species stands 3’3″ tall (1 meter) and weighs 55.1 lbs (25 kg).

Enhanced by Mega Evolution's power, Hawlucha’s strategy is built around resilience and swift, punishing counters. A duo of official trailers released on the Pokémon Direct and the Pokémon series’ official channels offer fans a dynamic first look at Mega Hawlucha in action.

The footage showcases an exhilarating matchup between Mega Hawlucha and Machamp, along with impressive displays of the new form’s agility and wrestling-inspired style.
