Description

Publishers Phoenixx and Gotcha Gotcha Games, alongside developer Hikotel, have officially announced that Kokoro Clover Season 1 will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Japan starting August 4, 2022.

This quirky 2D platformer, heavily influenced by the style and spirit of Sunday morning Japanese anime, will launch with full support for both Japanese and English languages, expanding its accessibility to a wider player base. Originally developed by Hikotel, Kokoro Clover Season 1 stands out for its anime-episodic storytelling and vibrant retro aesthetics.

Players take on the role of Treffy, a spirited young Spirit Summoner, who embarks on an adventure after stumbling upon the magical Kokoro Clover.

Much like classic anime shows, the narrative unfolds across 12 distinctive episodes, each filled with whimsical rivals, challenging enemies, and lighthearted drama. In an official statement regarding the game's launch, representatives from Hikotel emphasized the importance of creating an authentic anime-inspired experience for fans of platformers and Japanese pop culture.

They described Kokoro Clover as a celebration of weekend morning adventures, complete with transformations, collectibles, and flashy battles that encourage players to relive their favorite animated memories. Kokoro Clover Season 1 is far more than just a story-based platformer.

The game includes multiple modes to keep players engaged, such as Adventure Mode—offering traditional platforming action—Boss Rush Mode, and Mini-Game Mode.

As players progress through the game, they can collect coins and unlock a variety of upgrades, dances, unique characters, monster books, and collectible cards.

Fans will also appreciate the inclusion of original music composed by renowned chiptune artist Shinryu, which adds another layer of nostalgia. Additional features include opening and ending animations, in-game commercials reminiscent of classic anime broadcasts, and a user-adjustable clock feature that lets players set the on-screen time to either 8:00 or 9:00, further immersing them in the traditional feeling of watching Saturday morning cartoons.

Beyond controlling Treffy, players will also step into the shoes of a rival character and a formidable red robot, facing off against more than 20 bosses throughout the journey. Kokoro Clover Season 1 will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Japan starting August 4, with comprehensive Japanese and English language options.

With its unique blend of platforming gameplay, episodic storytelling, and anime-inspired presentation, Kokoro Clover is poised to capture the hearts of nostalgic gamers and new fans alike on Nintendo’s popular hardware.
