The Pokémon Company announced this week that the inaugural season of Ranked Battle mode in Pokémon Legends Z-A will kick off globally on the same day as the hotly anticipated release of the new Pokémon game.

Scheduled to launch worldwide on Thursday, this newest entry from The Pokémon Company and Nintendo promises both fresh gameplay mechanics and familiar competition for long-time fans, now adapted for the Nintendo Switch platform. Pokémon Legends Z-A, developed for the Nintendo Switch, is set to bring a revitalized approach to the franchise's beloved battle systems.
