Description

Hogwarts Legacy is set to make a significant arrival on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing with it a host of upgrades and technical enhancements.

Warner Bros., the game’s publisher, has released detailed information this week, confirming that the action RPG will leverage NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology on the new console.

This marks only the second confirmed use of DLSS on Nintendo hardware to date, following CD Projekt’s announcement regarding Cyberpunk 2077. According to Warner Bros., players on Nintendo Switch 2 can expect visual improvements such as advanced lighting and shadow effects, refined anti-aliasing, and an overall richer visual presentation.

When docked, Hogwarts Legacy will support resolutions of up to 1440p, while handheld mode offers a full 1080p experience accompanied by High Dynamic Range (HDR), raising the bar for graphic fidelity on Nintendo platforms. Beyond graphical enhancements, the Switch 2 version addresses some of the performance limitations observed in previous releases.

Unlike the segmented experience on the original Nintendo Switch—where players encountered frequent loading screens—loading in the Switch 2 version has been optimized.

Transitions are now seamless, and any remaining load times are notably shorter, contributing to an overall smoother gameplay flow.

The upgraded hardware also delivers a more consistent and improved frame rate, offering a better experience for both returning players and newcomers. One procedural update involves the physical edition’s distribution.

Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 will be provided via a game-key card, rather than a fully contained game cartridge.

As a result, users will need to allocate 24GB of storage space to download and install the title, a requirement that players should bear in mind when planning their eShop library. For fans seeking additional in-game content, Warner Bros.

has also outlined plans for a Digital Deluxe Edition.

This special edition includes exclusive digital items such as a Thestral Mount and the Dark Arts Pack.

The pack comprises the Dark Arts Battle Arena, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and the Dark Arts Garrison Hat, enriching the options available to players who want to deepen their Hogwarts experience. Hogwarts Legacy is slated for release on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

With DLSS support, upgraded visuals, and expanded digital offerings, this release is poised to be a significant step forward for AAA gaming experiences on the upcoming Nintendo hardware.

and the official Nintendo eShop for further updates, new screenshots, and future announcements regarding Hogwarts Legacy and other anticipated Switch 2 titles.
