Shift Up has disclosed technical details for the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Stellar Blade: Complete Edition, confirming performance targets, resolution modes, and the specific upscaling and frame generation technologies the team has implemented.

Lee explained Shift Up’s hybrid technical solution to achieve the 60 FPS target.

The team is using NVIDIA’s DLSS on Switch 2 for spatial upscaling, and then applying AMD’s FSR 3.1 frame interpolation feature to generate additional frames.

In journalistic terms, Lee said the team renders at a base frame rate—effectively using a 30 FPS render target to keep latency consistent—and leverages FSR 3.1 frame interpolation on top of DLSS-upscaled frames to reach the 60 FPS target.

He emphasized that DLSS handles upscaling while FSR 3.1 provides the interpolation capability that Switch 2’s DLSS implementation does not include for frame generation.

Lee also noted that working on Switch 2 has required finding the right trade-offs between visual expression and performance across handheld and docked modes.
