Final Fantasy VII: Revelation Release Date and Editions Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2

Square Enix has set a firm launch date for Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, confirming the game will release on April 8, 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2. The company originally revealed Revelation during Summer Game Fest 2026 and today provided full details on retail and digital editions, pre-order bonuses, and collector offerings in an official press release. In its announcement, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII: Revelation will be available in multiple physical and digital variants on Nintendo Switch 2. Physical editions include a Standard Edition ($69.99), a Deluxe Edition ($99.99), and a Square Enix Store-exclusive Collector's Edition ($349.99). Day 1 physical editions sold at select retailers will include a Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Final Showdown promo card, and Amazon's Day 1 edition includes a folded poster; some Deluxe physical editions will also ship in a steelbook case. Digital editions, sold via Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2, mirror the tiers and bonuses. Digital pre-order incentives across editions include the Summon Materia: Mecha-Chocobo & Moogle. The Premium digital edition ($99.99) adds a Story Expansion Pass (granting access to two planned story-centered DLCs), the Reclaimant Choker accessory, a Survival Set of consumables, and 24-hour early access to the game. A Premium Plus tier ($109.99) further includes a digital mini-soundtrack, digital artbook, Polydroid Alexander summon materia, and additional in-game equipment such as the Nymphwing Bracelet and Risk Taker’s Choker. Gameplay trailers released alongside the announcement show expanded overworld exploration for the Remake series: the Highwind airship (AVALANCHE’s tryst) is usable for the first time in the trilogy, and players can traverse a larger open area populated by iconic WEAPONS and new traversal options. Trailers introduce a new Chocobo companion named Piko, who levels up alongside characters, and highlight refined combat roles such as Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner.
