Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, will launch on April 8, 2027. The developer confirmed the game will release on all platforms and specifically noted a version for the Switch 2. The company also confirmed at least two story-focused downloadable content (DLC) releases will follow the main launch.
In a formal announcement, Square Enix outlined multiple physical and digital editions, promotional pre-order incentives, and collector packaging. The publisher said physical releases will include a Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and a Collector’s Edition sold exclusively through the SQUARE ENIX Store, while the Switch 2 retail SKU will be distributed on a Game-Key card.
Physical edition highlights:
- Standard Edition: Retail boxed copy; select Day 1 editions at retailers include a Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy Final Showdown promotional card. Amazon Day 1 Editions include a folded poster.
- Deluxe Edition: Includes a mini-soundtrack, art book, and a steelbook case. Day 1 retail editions may include the Magic: The Gathering promotional card.
- Collector’s Edition (SQUARE ENIX Store exclusive): All Deluxe items plus a premium statue featuring Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth, and a Story Expansion Pass granting access to two planned story-centered DLC packs. The Collector’s Edition also includes in-game items such as the Reclaimant Choker accessory and a Survival Set of consumable items, along with additional summon and equipment bonuses.
Digital offerings and incentives:
- Pre-order Incentive (all editions): Summon Materia: Mecha-Chocobo & Moogle.
- Standard Digital and Premium Editions: The Story Expansion Pass is available as part of certain editions, which grants access to the two planned story DLCs. Some digital tiers include early access permitting players to start the game 24 hours ahead of the official release.
- Premium Plus: Adds a digital mini soundtrack, digital artbook, additional summon materia and in-game equipment.
- Trilogy Edition: Bundles Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with Final Fantasy VII Revelation; the earlier titles are playable immediately after pre-order, with Revelation included upon release.
