Following its prior success, this new installment is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on August 8, 2025, with fresh content that aims to expand the game’s appeal to both returning fans and newcomers.
Building on the narrative action of the original, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 immerses players in faithfully recreated story arcs from the source material.
One of the biggest post-launch updates will be the release of the "Infinity Castle Arc Character Pass," which will introduce additional playable characters inspired by the memorable Infinity Castle storyline.

In a key announcement, the series’ iconic antagonist, Muzan Kibutsuji, will be added as a playable character in VS Mode.
This addition will come via a free update available to all players, further enriching the game’s competitive landscape.
While the exact timing for this update hasn’t yet been shared, SEGA and Aniplex confirmed their commitment to delivering new content that keeps the player experience fresh and engaging beyond the launch window.
This mirrors the developers’ previous efforts in supporting the Demon Slayer game series with regular updates and community-driven enhancements.
A brand new trailer has also been released, giving players an extended look at the main content included in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
The footage covers the story up through the Hashira Training Arc and showcases dynamic VS Mode gameplay, highlighting the improvements and new features debuting in this sequel.
The trailer further demonstrates the developers’ dedication to staying true to the animation style and storytelling that made the series a global phenomenon.
