N Plus infinity Times Two Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027 — Metanet Reveals New Multiplayer Modes

Metanet Software has confirmed N Plus infinity Times Two for Nintendo Switch 2, with a planned release in 2027.

The new entry builds on more than two decades of the studio's platforming work and follows N++ on Nintendo Switch, which launched in 2018.

Metanet frames the project as a modern reimagining of the N series that emphasizes multiplayer and party play while retaining the franchise's signature precision platforming.

Metanet says the team rebuilt the original experience from the ground up to deliver a virtual couch-party atmosphere focused on fast, competitive runs.

The developer promises five distinct ways to play, including Trials, Co-op, a remixed Racing mode known internally as Rocket Murder Time, and two new competitive modes: One-Up and Team Tag.

Local and online multiplayer are supported, and races accommodate up to four players who sprint to level exits while collecting gold to boost scores.

Gameplay retains the hallmark mechanics of the N franchise: momentum-based parkour, minimalist handcrafted levels, and lethal environmental interactions.

Players will still face fall damage and hazards that can eliminate competitors; Metanet emphasizes competitive depth, inviting players to sabotage opponents and manipulate enemy movement as part of high-level play.

The new one-up elimination format, One-Up, pits players in push-your-luck rounds where top performance and gold collection determine who stays in the match.

Team Tag pairs players into teams of two that alternate roles between rounds—one team hunts while the other evades—creating strategic layers atop the series' twitch-driven platforming.

Visually, N Plus infinity Times Two uses Metanet's trademark minimalist aesthetic with multiple color palettes, tracing, and particle effects.

Cosmetic customization, marketed as Funlockable cosmetics, can be earned through play.

The soundtrack is curated from over 50 international artists, including Dusky and Cameo Blush, with selections sourced from independent corners of Bandcamp to supply a varied electronic soundtrack suited to precision platforming.

Metanet has released a first trailer for the project.

N Plus infinity Times Two is positioned as both a celebration of the series' roots in Flash and a fresh multiplayer-focused evolution for Nintendo Switch 2 when it arrives in 2027.

Fans can expect the title to appear on Nintendo's eShop following the company's standard platform release practices.
