Description

EA and Respawn Entertainment have officially announced the arrival of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the fast-paced battle royale experience to Nintendo’s next-generation hybrid console.

Following its success on other platforms, this marks a significant milestone for both the Apex Legends franchise and the Nintendo Switch ecosystem. Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch 2 will offer technical enhancements designed to take full advantage of the upgraded hardware.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that players can enjoy action-packed gameplay at up to 60 frames per second, with the final performance dependent on the capabilities and compatibility of the connected monitor or hardware.

This update represents a notable improvement, providing smoother and more responsive controls for fans accustomed to the dependable performance seen on other consoles and PC. In terms of resolution, Apex Legends will deliver clear visuals at 1920×1080 when docked, allowing players to enjoy full HD quality on their televisions.

For gaming on the go, the handheld mode will feature a resolution of 1792×1008, balancing visual clarity and system performance for portable play.

These specifications are confirmation of EA’s commitment to optimizing the Apex Legends experience across multiple hardware configurations, ensuring Switch 2 users receive a polished product. As an added bonus for early adopters, EA has announced a special reward for players logging into Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 prior to September 16, 2025.

Eligible users will receive the exclusive “P.A.T.H.” Pathfinder skin automatically.

To claim this reward, an EA account is required, along with all the latest game updates installed—a standard procedure for live service games on the eShop. Apex Legends is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 5.

Alongside this release, EA has made the full patch notes for the latest update available, detailing a range of game improvements and new content.

The release expands Apex Legends’ platform history, adding to a list that already includes PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch (first generation), and PC, while reinforcing the growing partnership between Respawn Entertainment and Nintendo’s hardware teams. This port is expected to drive further engagement through the eShop and broaden the reach of Apex Legends in new gaming communities.

With robust performance, generous rewards for early players, and ongoing updates, Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch 2 represents one of the most significant third-party launches for the platform in 2024.
