HAL Laboratory and Nintendo are inviting players to experience the high-speed excitement of Kirby Air Riders with a special Global Test Ride event on the Nintendo Switch.
Ahead of the game’s official release on November 20, fans can dive into both online and offline modes — entirely free — and test their skills with Kirby and friends.
The Kirby Air Riders Global Test Ride is split across two weekends: November 8-9 and November 15-16, featuring multiple play sessions to accommodate fans worldwide.
Along with Kirby, classic characters like Meta Knight and King Dedede will be available, giving players the chance to sample a variety of gameplay styles and vehicles.
Players can get started with basic tutorials that provide essential guidance on navigating the game’s signature battles, fast-paced ground races, and aerial maneuvers.
According to Nintendo, these introductory lessons will remain accessible throughout each event weekend, regardless of the timed windows for the online test sessions.
Importantly, a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required for these lessons or for playing the offline Air Ride mode, making the event accessible to all Nintendo Switch users.

During the event, players can dive into two distinct game modes.
City Trial offers online competition for up to 16 players in the city of Skyah.
Here, participants roam the map in search of high-powered vehicles and collect power-ups, all while contending with randomized Field Events ranging from meteor showers to boss battles.
At the end of a timed build-up phase, players compete in a variety of Stadium events, which can feature drag races, arena battles, or even unique challenges like skydiving for points.
For those who prefer classic racing, the Air Ride mode allows for offline races against up to five other competitors.
In this mode, players focus on strategic attacks, collecting stars, and capitalizing on speed boosts to outrun their rivals and claim victory.
In addition to demo access, players who pre-order Kirby Air Riders via the Nintendo eShop will receive a set of exclusive in-game headwear.
This bonus will be available for customization during the second weekend of the Global Test Ride, offering fans a chance to showcase their unique style before the game's launch.
Kirby Air Riders builds upon the legacy of the long-running Kirby franchise, with HAL Laboratory bringing its expertise in character-driven action and innovative gameplay to the Nintendo Switch platform.
The Global Test Ride event gives series veterans and newcomers alike a first-hand look at the new title’s action-packed modes and multiplayer features, ahead of its worldwide launch on November 20.
Players interested in participating can download the demo via the Nintendo eShop and consult Nintendo’s website for further details, terms, and region availability.
With no Nintendo Switch Online subscription required for offline play or tutorials, the Global Test Ride provides a welcoming introduction for new players and a competitive proving ground for veterans of the Kirby universe.
