Description

Nintendo has continued to expand its beloved amiibo lineup with new additions from Kirby Air Riders, making headlines following the latest Nintendo Direct presentation.

The critically anticipated racing title for the Nintendo Switch is scheduled to launch soon, and fans can now look forward to collecting even more large-scale amiibo, featuring some of the franchise’s most iconic characters.

Kirby Air Riders, from HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, reinvigorates the fan-favorite Kirby racing formula for a new generation on the Nintendo Switch.

The game’s upcoming amiibo range already eclipsed competitors like Mario Kart in terms of character variety when it was first announced during the September Nintendo Direct.

Now, following another Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo has unveiled three additional figures: Meta Knight with Shadow Star, King Dedede with Tank Star, and Chef Kawasaki with Hop Star. Set for release in 2026, the new Kirby Air Riders amiibo wave will roll out with Meta Knight soaring onto shelves on March 5, 2026.

King Dedede and Chef Kawasaki will join the collection later that year, according to Nintendo’s official announcement. These amiibo are notable not only for their size, being significantly larger than standard figures, but also for their innovative flexibility.

Owners will be able to swap the characters between different vehicles, thanks to a magnetized connection that ensures each figure attaches securely.

For example, Tank Star’s tracks and wheels are adjustable, allowing players to alter the vehicle within the game itself—demonstrating Nintendo’s ongoing commitment to interactive hardware-software integration. While U.S.

retailers have listed the first wave with Kirby and Waddle Dee at $49.99 each, Nintendo has not officially confirmed pricing for the new figures.

However, if the previous retail price is any indication, it is likely that Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Chef Kawasaki amiibo will be similarly priced, bringing the total cost for fans collecting the entire set to over $250 before tax. Kirby Air Riders arrives on Nintendo Switch in just under a month, marking another major release in the Kirby franchise.

This amiibo range offers both collectors and players fresh gameplay options and unique display pieces.

As demand for Nintendo Switch exclusives continues to soar, these special edition amiibo are expected to attract both dedicated Kirby fans and amiibo collectors when they launch in 2026.
