Description

Bitmap Bureau has officially announced a revised release date for the upcoming action platformer, Terminator 2D: NO FATE, confirming that the game will now launch on November 26, 2025.

This delay affects all console platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, impacting both physical and digital distribution channels worldwide. Originally set for release at the end of October, Terminator 2D: NO FATE is an adaptation of the acclaimed 1991 film, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, directed by James Cameron.

Developed by Bitmap Bureau, known for their expertise in retro-style action titles, the game draws inspiration from classic Sega Mega Drive shooters and promises faithful renditions of several iconic scenes and characters from the beloved movie. In an official statement, Bitmap Bureau clarified the reasons behind the schedule change.

The studio explained that continuing global trade and tariff fluctuations had disrupted the shipment timelines for the Day One and Collector’s Editions of the game.

As a result, the developer opted to delay all editions—both physical and digital—to maintain a fair and unified worldwide launch for Terminator 2D: NO FATE collectors and digital players alike. “We want to ensure that every fan can enjoy Terminator 2D: NO FATE on the same day, no matter their preferred format,” Bitmap Bureau shared in a press release.

Expressing appreciation for community patience, the team reaffirmed that the wait will be worthwhile as they focus on delivering a polished, action-packed experience for all platforms, including Nintendo Switch and the eShop.

Bitmap Bureau emphasized their commitment to quality and their excitement to share the finished project with players in November 2025. Terminator 2D: NO FATE is set to capture the essence of the sci-fi classic by offering multiple playable characters, dynamic action sequences, and finely-crafted retro visuals that pay homage to early 16-bit era games.

Upon release, the title will be available through the Nintendo eShop, as well as in standard and collector’s physical editions. Fans and industry observers can look forward to further updates as launch day nears.

The delay, while disappointing to eager players, ensures that all Terminator 2D: NO FATE editions will arrive simultaneously and with the developer's high standard of quality.

Bitmap Bureau's decision underlines the challenges faced by studios in today’s global market while reaffirming their dedication to transparency and fan experience.
