White Owls Inc. and collaborator Goichi “SUDA51” Suda have confirmed that Hotel Barcelona will arrive on Nintendo’s console family, with dedicated Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions planned “coming soon.” The announcement accompanied details about the Late Check-Out DLC for the 2025 release, and publisher Eden Industries has positioned the Switch releases as a single, complete package priced at $34.99.

Background and release details

Hotel Barcelona launched on multiple platforms in September 2025 and was developed as a collaboration between Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro’s White Owls Inc. and SUDA51.

The title blends side-on action and roguelite mechanics with horror themes, and it features a distinctive setup in which protagonist Justine Bernstein is possessed by a serial killer’s spirit.

In March 2026 the game received a major overhaul called the Under New Management update, which reworked core gameplay systems, balance, progression, and presentation.

Switch packaging and content

Eden Industries has confirmed the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions will be sold as “a complete package” for $34.99.

That bundle will include the base game, the Late Check-Out DLC, and all gameplay updates released since the original September 2025 launch—including the Under New Management relaunch.

The publisher has not announced a physical edition for Switch; further details were not provided.

Multiplayer and platform features

According to developer notes, the Switch versions will support 1–3 players in standard play, expand to up to 4 players during invasion sequences, and include online multiplayer, co-op gameplay, and a PvP invasion mode.

Reception and post-launch changes

Hotel Barcelona opened to mixed critical reception, holding a 58 aggregate on Metacritic at the time of reporting.

The team has pointed to improved sentiment following the March 2026 overhaul; however, Steam user metrics linked in the relaunch commentary show 13 “Very Positive” user reviews against 257 “Mixed” reviews at present.

Content and development notes

Developers have explicitly stated that neither the base game nor the Late Check-Out DLC contain AI-generated content, emphasizing human-led creative direction on both the original release and the new DLC.

What this means for Switch players

For Nintendo Switch owners, the announced builds aim to deliver the post-patch, polished version of Hotel Barcelona rather than the earlier, patchier launch state.

With an all-in price of $34.99 for the complete package, the Switch editions will give fans of SWERY and SUDA51 access to the relaunched experience on Nintendo hardware once release timing is finalized.
