Minecraft Superman DLC Lands on Nintendo Switch: Play as Superman, Battle Lex Luthor, and Protect Metropolis

To coincide with the release of the newest Superman movie, Mojang Studios has rolled out a Superman-themed DLC for Minecraft, now available on Nintendo Switch and numerous other platforms.

Known for its robust content updates and thriving creative community, Minecraft regularly partners with iconic franchises, and this collaboration with DC’s Superman brings fresh gameplay, memorable locations, and legendary powers to the beloved sandbox title. The Superman DLC immerses players in Metropolis, offering the opportunity to don the signature cape and tights of Superman.

Players can access classic superpowers including Super Strength, Heat Vision, and the ability to fly.

These new gameplay features allow fans to battle notorious adversaries, solve engaging puzzles, and soar across the city in defense of its citizens.

The adventure also brings in the Fortress of Solitude as a destination—players can visit the iconic locale and even hang out with Krypto the Superdog. At the heart of the DLC’s narrative lies Superman’s timeless arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

In a classic twist, Luthor pretends to open a refuge for stray animals in Metropolis.

However, the reality is more sinister, as he executes one of his most nefarious schemes yet.

Luthor’s plan is carefully crafted to create enough chaos within Metropolis to keep Superman occupied, giving Lex free rein to advance his machinations unchecked.

Throughout the adventure, players must use Superman’s powers to thwart Luthor’s forces, protect the city, solve intricate challenges, and, when needed, consult with renowned Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane for guidance. Highlighting the DLC’s celebratory spirit, Mojang Studios is offering a free "Superman fan top"—a Superman-themed Character Creator item that users can redeem in the Minecraft Dressing Room.

"We wanted our fans to show their Superman pride, so we're giving away the classic Superman ‘S’ fan top for free.

Grab it from the Dressing Room and let other players know whose side you're on," Mojang said in a developer statement. Despite this exciting content drop, Minecraft has not yet received any platform-specific upgrades for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2, and the DLC is designed for the current Nintendo Switch and other supported systems.
