Fallen City Brawl PC Release Date Set for August 2025, Updated Steam Demo Now Available
Fallen City Brawl, the latest retro-inspired beat 'em up from indie developer Fallen City Studio and publisher eastasiasoft, is officially launching for PC on August 12, 2025.
The game will be available on both Steam and GOG, marking a fitting milestone in the title’s development after several years of anticipation.
Originally introduced as a Kickstarter project in 2020, Fallen City Brawl draws clear inspiration from classic arcade side-scrollers such as Streets of Rage, Final Fight, and Alien vs.
Predator.
Although the crowdfunding campaign failed to reach its funding target, the project found new life when eastasiasoft came on board as publisher in 2021.
Initially targeted for release in 2022, development extended beyond the expected timeline, but the game is now on the verge of release.
Leading up to the PC launch, Fallen City Studio has rolled out an updated version 3.0 demo on Steam.
According to statements from the developer, this demo introduces significant changes and enhancements compared to previous versions, offering players a refined look at the game’s mechanics and content.
In this revamped demo, players can try out all four playable characters—Sgt Clay, Ricco, Natasha, and Iron Jackson—each bringing unique move sets, special attacks, and weapons to the fight.
Sgt Clay wields a crowd-controlling shotgun, Ricco relies on a pistol, Natasha throws a boomerang-like wrench, and Iron Jackson unleashes Molotov cocktails.
The single-stage demo concludes with a boss battle, showcasing the depth and promise of the full release.
Fallen City Brawl’s design philosophy is steeped in nostalgia but delivers fresh mechanics for modern audiences.
The game features hefty pixel art sprites, richly animated city environments, and gameplay depth that includes destructive combos, grappling, air-throws, parries, counters, and signature "RIOT" super moves.
The experience is complemented by animated cutscenes and an energetic soundtrack composed by Daniel Lindholm, best known for his work on several acclaimed action titles.
Players can experience the game solo or with friends via local co-op, making it a standout addition to the growing library of indie fighters on platforms like Nintendo Switch and Steam.
While Fallen City Brawl’s PC release date is now set, details on its debut for consoles—including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S—have not yet been announced.
The development team continues to engage the community, encouraging fans to wishlist the title and try out the improved demo on Steam.
Gamers interested in intense side-scrolling action and classic beat 'em up gameplay should keep a close eye on Fallen City Brawl as it approaches its August launch.
For now, the updated demo provides a strong preview of a promising indie contender in the beloved beat 'em up genre.
