Street Fighter 6, developed and published by Capcom, originally released on June 2, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
The incoming updates focus on expanding avatar-centric play and progression systems introduced in the game’s World Tour and online Avatar Battles.
Random Avatar Matches
Random Avatar Matches is designed to streamline online Avatar Battles and make them both quick and balanced.
Capcom says the mode will deliver fast, equitable online competition by fixing player levels and base parameters through Level Sync while leaving gauge limits and accessory slots fully unlocked.
All master styles, special moves, and Super Arts are available to equip from the outset, enabling immediate experimentation with different fighting styles.
Every participant in Random Avatar Matches will receive the beginner equipment set, the Breakneck Brawler Outfit, and can earn additional gear through play.
Players accumulate Avatar Points by completing matches; these points determine rewards and populate rankings that are tracked daily, weekly, monthly, and cumulatively.
The Battle Settings menu offers matchmaking preferences, control options, and Title/Challenge visibility settings so players can manage what information is shown to opponents.
Capcom also notes there are exclusive challenge rewards in this mode, including special colors for Fighting Ground characters — a color that requires a character’s Outfit 2 to be equipped.
Avatar Arcade
Avatar Arcade is built to accelerate avatar progression through CPU battles and is split into two primary modes: Spar with a Master and Battle Tour.
In Spar with a Master, players repeatedly fight CPU masters to learn their styles and special moves; higher difficulty settings speed up move acquisition and improve the rarity of earned items and gear.
Battle Tour presents consecutive fights against masters and NPCs drawn from World Tour Mode, with each course offering specific rewards, including unlockable endings tied to legacy Street Fighter titles.
Occasionally, Unexpected New Challengers will appear in Battle Tour courses — these opponents are tougher but can drop rare items when defeated.
Progress in Avatar Arcade fills an Acquisition Gauge tied to each master; reaching MAX unlocks that master’s Outfit 2.
Outfit 2 can also be obtained through the in-game Goods Shop or by maximizing bonds with masters in World Tour Mode.
Availability and additional notes
Capcom has confirmed Random Avatar Matches and Avatar Arcade will arrive on May 28, 2026 alongside the release of DLC character Ingrid.
A trailer for the new modes is available from Capcom’s official channels; players should consult the developer’s site and official storefronts such as the eShop for distribution details and updates.
These additions reinforce Capcom’s ongoing support for Street Fighter 6’s avatar systems and competitive features.
