Chaos Cubed update and Sulfur cubes
Mojang set the Chaos Cubed update release date for June 16, 2026.
The update adds new passive mobs called sulfur cubes, which inhabit newly introduced sulfur caves.
Mojang explained that sulfur cubes will move by jumping around until they are fed blocks; when a cube consumes a block it alters the cube's physical behavior, producing different movement effects such as flying, bouncing, or sliding.
The developer also noted players can transport sulfur cubes by scooping them into buckets for relocation.
Beyond new mobs, Chaos Cubed introduces sulfur caves, environmental features like spikes, springs, and geysers, additional block sets, and a new Bounce music disc.
Dappled Forest biome and testing
Mojang announced the Dappled Forest as a new biome that will include new wool stairs and slabs, abandoned camps, and other content.
The developer said testing for the Dappled Forest will begin this summer.

Mojang confirmed that LEGO Chicken Mounts are available now on the Minecraft Marketplace.
The team encouraged players interested in riding, customizing, or battling with chicken mounts to download the pack through the Marketplace.

During the broadcast Mojang reconfirmed Minecraft Dungeons II remains on track for a 2026 release and will arrive on Nintendo Switch and the reported Switch 2.
