Numskull Designs will open pre-orders for a 1/4-scale recreation of Atari’s classic arcade cabinet Battlezone on August 7, 2026, the company announced in its Official Quarter Arcades Fan Group. The miniature machine is part of Numskull’s Quarter Arcades series and is an officially licensed product from Rebellion, the current rights holder, and Atari. Battlezone first debuted in arcades in 1980 and is widely cited as one of the industry’s earliest major 3D successes. The cabinet was notable for its periscope-style viewfinder and distinctive vector-graphics presentation, allowing players to drive a tank across a battlefield and engage enemy vehicles and UFOs. The game’s vector visuals became a defining feature and helped spawn multiple ports, remakes and reimaginings over the decades. Numskull’s announcement asked fans to prepare to “step back into Battlezone’s vector-graphics arena,” positioning the 1/4-scale model as a faithful miniature of the original arcade experience. The company encouraged interested buyers to join waiting lists to avoid missing the pre-order window, with separate sign-ups now live for US and UK & International customers. According to Numskull’s post, the Quarter Arcades Battlezone will be sold under official license from Rebellion and Atari and will include a promotional incentive: purchasers will receive a 50% discount toward a subsequent Quarter Arcades purchase. Numskull has not yet disclosed final pricing or a ship date; those details are expected to be provided closer to the pre-order launch on August 7, 2026. For context on the franchise’s modern presence, Rebellion released a Battlezone reboot in 2016. That entry was originally released for PlayStation 4 and was later ported to Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The franchise’s continued availability on contemporary platforms has kept interest in physical recreations strong among collectors and retro-arcade fans. Collectors and retailers tracking Numskull’s Quarter Arcades launch should monitor the company’s official channels and its fan group for updates, pricing, and the exact pre-order link when it goes live on August 7, 2026. Signing up to the waiting list is the recommended method to secure early access to the pre-order opportunity.
