Pokémon Wind & Wave Website Redirects Amidst Anticipation for 30th Anniversary Reveal With the Pokémon franchise approaching its 30th anniversary, excitement is reaching new heights following recent developments for the next mainline entry, Pokémon Wind & Wave. After details of the game surfaced through a significant leak exposing The Pokémon Company's future plans, fans have been diligently monitoring official channels for confirmation. Earlier today, visitors noticed that the url https://www.pokemon.com/windwave redirects to Pokémon’s main website. While this doesn’t guarantee that a dedicated page for Pokémon Wind & Wave is live, it confirms that the URL is registered, fueling further anticipation. This technical behavior, which also applies to URLs with other suffixes like “/win”, suggests an infrastructure ready to support future announcements tied to this highly-anticipated title. Pokémon Wind & Wave is expected to be developed for the Nintendo Switch system, maintaining The Pokémon Company and Game Freak’s commitment to the hybrid platform where the franchise has seen unprecedented global success. Past releases such as Pokémon Sword and Shield and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have each surpassed 20 million copies sold, contributing to a lifetime franchise sales figure exceeding 480 million units as of March 2023, according to Nintendo’s financial reports. In response to inquiries regarding the recent leaks and website behavior, an official representative for The Pokémon Company emphasized adherence to their promotional roadmap. "We remain focused on delivering exciting experiences for our fans worldwide and appreciate the enthusiasm leading up to our anniversary celebrations," the spokesperson stated in revised terms for clarity. The company’s approach suggests that previously leaked titles like Pokémon Wind & Wave are moving forward in line with established plans. The anticipation around Wind & Wave comes as the Pokémon franchise marks 30 years since its original game release in Japan in 1996. The milestone is scheduled for celebration in two months, heightening expectations that a formal reveal for Pokémon Wind & Wave will be integrated into anniversary festivities, potentially during an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation. As Pokémon fans await official confirmation and further information regarding Wind & Wave, all eyes remain on both The Pokémon Company and Nintendo Switch announcements. The continued management of their web presence signals preparation for significant franchise news during this historic year.
