Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Event Returns: Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Capture Guide

The Pokemon Company has officially announced the return of the highly sought-after Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, two of the most successful titles in the long-running franchise.

Available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, quickly surpassing sales milestones since their launch in November 2022.

As part of efforts to keep the player community engaged, these special events have become a highlight for trainers eager to complete their collection of unique and powerful creatures. Scheduled to run from December 19, 2025, through January 4, 2026, this limited-time Tera Raid Event will once again allow trainers to battle for the chance to catch the Paradox Pokemon Walking Wake in Scarlet and Iron Leaves in Violet.

These two exclusive Pokemon remain unattainable through normal gameplay or existing DLC content, making the event the only current opportunity to add them to a player’s roster. In a statement provided by The Pokemon Company, representatives emphasized the uniqueness of the event: the availability of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves is strictly limited to these special Tera Raids, and each Pokemon can only be captured once per save file.

Players who obtained the creatures during prior versions of this event will not receive a second chance. Trainers who hold an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription are encouraged to join Tera Raid battles with friends or other players in order to catch the Paradox Pokemon available in the version they do not own.

This online collaboration is currently the only method for Scarlet owners to obtain Iron Leaves and for Violet owners to catch Walking Wake. Since release, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have maintained a robust online community, with regular Tera Raid events sparking active participation both locally and globally via the Nintendo eShop and online services.

The ongoing support from Game Freak and The Pokemon Company underscores Nintendo’s commitment to evolving the experience on its flagship hardware. As the Tera Raid event approaches, trainers are advised to prepare their best teams and stay connected to Nintendo Direct announcements for details on future in-game activities.

For dedicated completionists and competitive battlers alike, this event marks a unique window to catch two of the most coveted Paradox Pokemon in the series.
