The Pokémon Company has announced an exciting new initiative for Pokémon HOME users, offering exclusive digital medals at select Pokémon Center locations across Japan.
As part of ongoing engagement efforts with its global fanbase, Pokémon HOME—a cloud-based storage and trading service available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices—will allow trainers to earn unique commemorative medals by visiting specific Pokémon Center outlets and utilizing smartphone technology.
Beginning May 3, 2025, players visiting Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, Pokémon Center Osaka, and Pokémon Center Nagoya can obtain a limited-time exclusive medal for their Pokémon HOME account.
Each digital medal is uniquely branded with the logo of the Pokémon Center where it was acquired, providing a special memento for fans and collectors alike.
To claim a medal, visitors should use a smartphone equipped with NFC capabilities to scan a designated stand at participating Pokémon Centers.
This process instantly awards the corresponding eco-friendly digital medal to the user’s Pokémon HOME profile, according to official materials provided by The Pokémon Company.
These medals are not just cosmetic; they serve as badges of honor, commemorating pilgrimages to some of Japan's most iconic Pokémon Centers.
A spokesperson for The Pokémon Company described this effort as a way to "further reward dedicated fans and provide meaningful experiences at our Pokémon Center locations." With the rollout focused initially on three major cities—Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya—the company aims to offer even more interactive content and community-oriented activity for players using the Nintendo Switch platform and connected devices.
Since its release, Pokémon HOME has become an integral part of the Pokémon ecosystem, supporting the transfer and management of Pokémon across mainline games like Pokémon Sword, Shield, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
The service is available on both Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, and can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop and respective app stores worldwide.
Pokémon HOME continues to expand its feature set with regular updates, further driving engagement through unique events and in-app collectibles.
While this wave of exclusive medals is currently limited to the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya locations starting from May 3, 2025, The Pokémon Company has a history of expanding event-based rewards to other venues.
As the company continues to innovate in fan engagement, players can expect ongoing opportunities and updates within Pokémon HOME and other Nintendo Switch titles.
Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for future announcements regarding additional medals and participating Pokémon Centers.
This initiative underscores The Pokémon Company's commitment to blending real-world experiences with its expansive digital universe, leveraging the capabilities of modern hardware like the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices to deliver compelling interactions for dedicated trainers worldwide.
