Pokéxciting Asia Tour: Pokémon Company 30th Anniversary Events and Kuala Lumpur Pokémon Center Details

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokéxciting, a special campaign marking the Pokémon franchise's 30th Anniversary in Asia.

The multi-city initiative will pair live festival-style programming with local Pokémon GO activations and a temporary retail presence, beginning in September 2026.

The series of events is designed to celebrate the brand across several major Asian markets and will include on-site activities, themed merchandise, and evening stage shows.

Event schedule

- Kuala Lumpur: September 12–13, 2026

- Taipei: October 10–11, 2026

- Singapore: November 7–8, 2026

- Manila: January 23–24, 2027

- Bangkok: February 13–14, 2027

In its announcement, The Pokémon Company said the Pokéxciting campaign will visit multiple cities across Asia beginning in September 2026, and that local Pokémon GO events will run in each city during the stated periods.

Pokémon GO events are coordinated with Niantic, the mobile developer behind Pokémon GO, to support on-the-ground activities for players.

Kuala Lumpur details

The company has provided concrete details for the Kuala Lumpur leg in Malaysia.

The Kuala Lumpur event will be held at KLCC Park and will offer free admission.

Planned attractions for the KL event include a drone show, meet-and-greet sessions with PokéXciting Pikachu — which will wear a city-specific color costume at each stop — and a night stage presenting special performances featuring the character.

Organizers also listed daytime family activities and exclusive merchandise featuring PokéXciting Pikachu for sale.

Pop-up Pokémon Center in Kuala Lumpur

A pop-up Pokémon Center will operate at KLCC from September 12 through December 21, 2026.

The pop-up will rotate special themes approximately every three weeks and is intended to complement the live Pokéxciting festivities with retail exclusives and themed displays.

Context and platform notes

The Pokémon franchise spans mobile and console platforms; while these events are primarily live and mobile-focused through Pokémon GO, the brand is also well known for mainline titles on Nintendo Switch.

The Pokémon Company continues to leverage both live events and retail pop-ups to engage fans across platforms.

The Pokémon Company has said additional details and city-specific programming will be released ahead of each event.

Fans and attendees should monitor official channels for updates and scheduling changes.
