Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac x Sonic the Hedgehog DLC Now Available on Nintendo Switch
Bandai Namco has rolled out a highly anticipated crossover DLC for the modernized classic, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, featuring content themed around Sonic the Hedgehog.
Launching today for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, this new downloadable content pack injects fresh energy into the fan-beloved platformer just months after its return to the eShop.
The Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac x Sonic the Hedgehog DLC introduces a completely new area for players to explore, bringing Sonic’s unmistakable speed and flair into Pac-Man’s vibrant world.
Core to the DLC are three newly designed, Sonic-themed stages that culminate in a challenging, multi-phase boss battle against Sonic stalwart, Dr. Eggman.
In addition to gameplay content, the update delivers twenty distinct collectible figures for fans to uncover and adds a Sonic-inspired costume for Pac-Man to don on his adventures.
A Bandai Namco representative noted in a statement that this collaboration was created to unite two of gaming’s most recognizable icons in a way that is fresh and engaging for longtime fans.
"Our aim was to craft a mix of nostalgic gameplay and inventive new experiences by bringing Sonic into Pac-Man’s universe," the company said.
This marks the latest in a trend of high-profile crossover events increasing the value and longevity of Nintendo Switch titles on the eShop.
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a complete overhaul of the classic 2002 platformer.
Redesigned for modern hardware, it features upgraded visuals, expanded environments, a larger Pac-Village, streamlined controls, and new voice acting.
The remake also introduces fresh mechanics, revamped boss battles, more characters, new collectibles, and customization options.
Notably, a two-player mode has been added, aligning with the current era’s emphasis on shared gaming experiences.
