Nintendo Switch Online Adds Mario & Wario, Bubsy, and Fatal Fury Special to SNES Lineup

Nintendo continues to bolster its classic game offerings with a significant expansion to the Nintendo Switch Online SNES library.

The latest update adds three celebrated titles: Mario & Wario, Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, and Fatal Fury Special.

Effective immediately, these Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) classics are now available to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users who maintain an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Mario & Wario takes the spotlight in this release.

Originally launched exclusively for Japan's Super Famicom in 1993, the title makes its western debut through the Nintendo Switch Online platform.

The game challenges players to guide Mario—who's had a bucket mischievously placed on his head by Wario—safely to Luigi using a magical fairy's wand.

Notably, Nintendo has implemented robust mouse control options for players using Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, closely emulating the unique input method found in the original version.

By maneuvering the fairy with the mouse and executing actions with a simple click, players can attempt to clear 100 creatively designed stages brimming with inventive puzzles. Joining Mario & Wario is Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, a notable action platformer first released for the Super Nintendo in 1993.

Players step into the role of Bubsy the bobcat, embarking on a quest against the quirky alien race known as the Woolies, who have stolen Bubsy's cherished yarn collection.

The adventure takes place across 16 expansive stages, featuring hundreds of screens filled with whimsical enemies and interactive environments.

With engaging mechanics and a lighthearted tone, Bubsy's debut remains a memorable entry in the SNES platforming genre. Rounding out the trio is Fatal Fury Special, a landmark fighting game that launched for the SNES in 1995.

This enhanced version boasts the full character roster from Fatal Fury 2, supplemented by new combatants including Billy Kane, Axel Hawk, and Laurence Blood, as well as a formidable new boss, Wolfgang Krauser.

Additionally, fan-favorite characters such as Tung Fu Rue, Duck King, and Geese Howard return from the original Fatal Fury.

By introducing mechanics like two-line battles, refined special moves, and signature finishers, Fatal Fury Special elevated the franchise's reputation.

In a nod to developer SNK's universe, players who meet special conditions can unlock a guest appearance from Ryo Sakazaki of the Art of Fighting series. A new trailer showcasing Mario & Wario, Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, and Fatal Fury Special is now live on the official Nintendo Switch Online platform.
