Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands Nintendo Switch Release Set for June 30, 2026

Five House and Deathbulge have confirmed a Nintendo Switch release for Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands, with the eShop launch scheduled for June 30, 2026.

The announcement follows the title’s initial PC release and expands availability to consoles, delivering the game’s distinctive music-driven RPG mechanics to Switch players.

Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands is described as a music-based RPG that casts players as Faye, Ian and Briff, a three-piece band of dysfunctional friends who become trapped in a cursed battle-of-the-bands contest where combat is conducted through music.

The title first appeared on Steam in 2023, and the new Switch edition will bring the full game—and its original soundtrack—to Nintendo’s handheld-console hybrid.

Developer-provided details highlight a number of systems and design choices that set Deathbulge apart from many indie RPGs:

- Campaign length: roughly 15–20 hours of game time.

- Customization: nine musically themed classes (each with unique attacks, perks, and outfits).

- Combat: a hybrid system built around "measure effects," blending real-time elements with turn-based actions and emphasizing what happens between turns.

- Field design: monsters appear on the map (no random encounters) and players can use three distinct field abilities to avoid enemies.

- Item economy: a unique merch-based item system where consumables are kept as permanent items requiring a shared, refillable global resource called STOCK to use.

- Additional features: late-game dating segment, sewable band-logo patches that grant battle perks, and a world populated by highly individualized NPCs.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, solo artist and creator Dan Marti said the team was proud of the original Steam release and the positive reception it received.

He added that strong player response made the decision to bring the game to consoles straightforward, and the team is excited to make Deathbulge available on Switch as well as PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

A consoles trailer was released alongside the announcement.

The Switch release on June 30, 2026 will be available through the Nintendo eShop; further platform details and store pages are expected to appear as the release approaches.
