Ubisoft Celebrates Rayman’s 30th Anniversary with New Content and Concept Art on Nintendo Switch This year marks a major milestone for one of the gaming industry’s most beloved characters: Rayman.

Ubisoft, the renowned developer and publisher, has officially launched its 30th anniversary celebrations for the limbless hero — a platforming icon who made his debut in 1995 and has since become a staple across multiple Nintendo platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.

Since its debut, the Rayman franchise has sold millions of copies worldwide and earned praise for its unique art style, inventive level design, and whimsical characters. To commemorates three decades of Rayman, Ubisoft is rolling out a series of retrospectives and community engagement initiatives.

As part of this anniversary, Ubisoft announced that work is underway on a new Rayman project, signaling the mascot’s ongoing importance to the company’s legacy.

The developer plans to highlight key moments from Rayman’s storied history, featuring behind-the-scenes content, developer interviews, classic anecdotes, concept art, and additional surprises for longtime fans and newcomers alike. To launch the celebrations, Ubisoft shared exclusive Rayman Legends concept art, offering fans a look at the creative process behind the 2013 release for Wii U and its Definitive Edition, which arrived on the Nintendo Switch in 2017.

In an official statement, Ubisoft invited fans to "return to the Glade of Dreams" and reminisce about their favorite Rayman Legends moments evoked by the stunning concept images.

In effect, Ubisoft is not just showcasing the game’s artistic strengths but also encouraging gamers to revisit the adventures that helped define the franchise on Nintendo hardware. Ubisoft also outlined a roadmap for its anniversary tributes, revealing plans to "travel back in time" and explore the franchise’s origins.

According to the developer, the celebration will begin with Rayman Legends and subsequently delve into the original Rayman game in the coming months.

These retrospective features promise to provide fans with insights into the development process, design philosophies, and evolution of Rayman since his initial appearance almost thirty years ago. Meanwhile, Rayman is also making waves in Ubisoft’s free-to-play multiplayer hit, Brawlhalla.

In honor of the anniversary, Brawlhalla introduced limited-time content, including a new look for Rayman, themed stages, and anniversary-exclusive items.

This in-game event allows both series veterans and new players to experience the character’s legacy in a collaborative setting. Additionally, anticipation continues building within the Nintendo community over rumors that Rayman 2 could be added to the Nintendo Switch Online N64 library in the future.

While Ubisoft and Nintendo have not officially confirmed this, it remains a testament to Rayman’s enduring appeal and the franchise’s historic relationship with Nintendo’s hardware and digital services, including the eShop. As Ubisoft celebrates Rayman’s 30th anniversary, players can look forward to a blend of nostalgic retrospectives and fresh content, reinforcing Rayman’s status as one of gaming’s most iconic platformers.
