Former Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser Joins Hasbro Board of Directors

Doug Bowser, the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, has officially joined Hasbro's Board of Directors following his retirement from Nintendo.

This transition marks a significant development in Bowser's storied career within the gaming and entertainment industry, as he brings decades of experience in leadership and franchise management from one of the world's premier video game companies to Hasbro, a global powerhouse in toys and games. Hasbro, widely known for its innovative range of products, goes beyond traditional toy manufacturing.

Its broad portfolio includes iconic names from Kenner and Parker Brothers to Milton Bradley, as well as Wizards of the Coast, the entity behind influential gaming franchises like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

Hasbro’s acquisition of Kenner also linked it firmly to legendary brands like Transformers and G.I.

Joe, cementing its position at the forefront of the global toy and tabletop gaming markets. Announcing the appointments, Hasbro confirmed Bowser's addition to its board alongside Carla Vernón, CEO of The Honest Company.

He now joins Hasbro at a time when the company continues to evolve its digital and tabletop gaming strategies, leveraging blockbuster properties with global reach. This transition also coincides with new leadership at Nintendo of America, where Devon Pritchard has assumed the role of President and COO.

Pritchard recently made her inaugural public appearance in this position at the 15th Annual New York Game Awards, delivering a message celebrating both the event and its notable education-focused Playing With Purpose program.
