Nintendo and Universal Studios Japan have further deepened their collaboration to create immersive experiences for fans, this time with a unique offering for guests at Super Nintendo World.
As of February 2025, visitors staying at any of seven official hotels near the Osaka-based theme park can now rent an Alarmo clock, allowing them to wake up in true Nintendo fashion.
This latest initiative reinforces Nintendo’s dedication to brand synergy, bridging the worlds of iconic gaming characters and real-life hospitality.
In an official announcement published on Nintendo's Japanese website, the company outlined details of its partnership with Universal Studios Japan.
Through this collaboration, Alarmo clock rentals are now available to guests, complete with an AC adapter, which can be picked up at the hotel reception upon check-in.
While the post did not disclose the nightly rental price of Alarmo, it is widely speculated to be more budget-friendly than the clock’s standard retail price of £89.99.
Some fans are even hopeful for a complimentary inclusion as part of their hotel stay.
For now, the offer is exclusive to the following seven hotels serving the Universal Studios site in Osaka:
- Oriental Hotel Universal City
- The Singulari Hotel & Skyspa at Universal Studios Japan
- The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan
- Hotel Kintetsu Universal City
- Hotel Keihan Universal Tower
- Hotel Universal Port
- Hotel Universal Port Vita
Hotel guests eager to immerse themselves in Super Nintendo World’s atmosphere can make use of the themed Alarmo clock throughout their stay.
This move comes shortly after the park’s significant Donkey Kong expansion, which opened toward the end of 2024 and introduced a Donkey Kong-themed roller coaster, interactive bongo minigames, exclusive merchandise, and specialty dining options.
The new expansion has contributed to Super Nintendo World’s growing global profile and cements Osaka as a must-visit destination for Nintendo fans.
As Nintendo continues to expand its hardware and experiential offerings, collaborative efforts like these demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing fans with multifaceted ways to engage with their favorite franchises, both in-game and in real life.
While this Alarmo rental program is currently limited to Japan, interest from international fans could influence future rollouts to other Universal Studios locations.
