Final Fantasy VII Revelation Switch 2 Release Confirmed for April 2027 — Complete Edition Details and Collector's Packs

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 in April 2027, bringing the final installment of the remake trilogy to Nintendo’s next-generation handheld-console.

The publisher has also outlined retail formats and a range of launch editions, including a Japan-only Complete Edition produced in a limited run.

Release timing and retail format

Square Enix announced an April 2027 release window for Final Fantasy VII Revelation on Nintendo Switch 2 and specified that the retail SKU will be distributed as a Game-Key Card.

The Game-Key Card format typically requires redemption via the console’s digital storefront.

Pre-orders for the standalone retail edition are now live, with a suggested price of $69.99 (or regional equivalent).

Complete Edition and Collector’s Editions

In Japan, Square Enix will offer a limited-supply Complete Edition priced at 77,777 yen (approximately $500 USD).

That Complete Edition bundles the new title with existing entries in the remake series — Remake Intergrade and Rebirth — and expands the physical and digital extras beyond the standard Collector’s Edition.

According to the publisher, the Complete Edition includes steel cases, a retro Cloud keychain, acrylic display stands with display-only discs (the Revelation display disc carries a serial number), the Story Expansion Pass, and the statuette and collectibles found in the Collector’s Edition.

Square Enix described the Japan release as a deliberately limited production run on its webstore, signaling a small allocation of Complete Edition units for that market.

Western Collector’s Edition

For Western territories, the Collector’s Edition will include Final Fantasy VII Revelation, a hardcover artbook, a mini soundtrack CD, and a statue featuring Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth, along with assorted digital bonuses.

Square Enix has priced the Western Collector’s Edition at $349.99.

The publisher confirmed that local retail options top out at this Collector’s Edition; the more expansive Complete Edition is currently a Japan-only offering.

What this means for Nintendo Switch 2 owners

The Switch 2 release completes the remake trilogy’s transition to Nintendo’s platform lineup and provides both digital and premium physical purchasing options for collectors.

With pre-orders active and multiple editions confirmed, Square Enix is positioning Final Fantasy VII Revelation as a major multi-format launch for April 2027.
