Nintendo of America Announces Leadership Transition: Doug Bowser to Retire, Devon Pritchard Named Incoming President
Nintendo of America has formally announced a significant change in its executive leadership, with President and Chief Operating Officer Doug Bowser set to retire on December 31, 2025.
Bowser, who has spent more than a decade in senior roles at the company, will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, currently the Executive Vice President of Revenue, Marketing, and Consumer Experience at Nintendo of America.
Devon Pritchard, a veteran with 19 years in the video game industry and a longstanding member of Nintendo's leadership team, has held various executive positions across marketing, business affairs, and publisher relations.
Nintendo of America describes her as a key figure in guiding the company's growth and recognizes her wide-ranging expertise in both commercial and player engagement strategies.
Upon assuming her new role, Pritchard will also join the Nintendo of America Board of Directors and become an executive officer at Nintendo Co.
Ltd.

In addition to these changes, Satoru Shibata will join Nintendo of America as Chief Executive Officer while continuing to serve as Managing Executive Officer and Corporate Director, Member of the Board at Nintendo Co.
Ltd.
This move aligns closely with Nintendo’s intention to create a seamless leadership structure across its global operations.
Doug Bowser has played an integral role during his tenure at Nintendo of America, contributing to the highly successful launches of both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 hardware in the Americas.
Under his leadership, Nintendo expanded into new entertainment avenues, including theme parks and motion pictures, solidifying the company's position as a multifaceted entertainment powerhouse.
