The company’s social media manager, known online as ChrisCovers, addressed some of the swirling rumors directly.

Responding to Notebook Check’s coverage in the Retroid Discord server, ChrisCovers explained, “I posted a song from one of my favorite movies, and somehow that means it's a [dual-screen] gen2 DS? Maybe people are overthinking it.” This statement appears to downplay the speculation while stopping short of an outright denial.
