SEGA Classics Return: My Arcade Confirms OutRun, Sonic, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe Mini Arcade Cabinets

At CES 2026, My Arcade officially confirmed the launch dates and expanded roster for its highly anticipated line of Sega-licensed mini arcade cabinets, delighting retro gaming enthusiasts and industry observers alike.

These new products celebrate a golden era of arcade and console classics, providing fans with authentic recreations of beloved SEGA titles such as OutRun, Sonic, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe in compact, collectible form.

The update, reported directly from the CES 2026 show floor by Gen X Grown Up, reinforces My Arcade’s commitment to delivering retro content with modern convenience.

The announced release window for these Sega mini-arcade units is April 2026, bringing an end to over a year of anticipation following their initial unveiling in early 2025.

The mini arcade lineup includes: - OutRun (featuring the original arcade release and its sequel, OutRunners) - Shinobi (with arcade Shinobi, Genesis titles Revenge of Shinobi, Shinobi III, and Shadow Dancer) - Streets of Rage (offering Streets of Rage and Streets of Rage 2; Streets of Rage 3 is notably absent) - Golden Axe (including Golden Axe, Golden Axe 2, and Golden Axe 3 from the Genesis library) Additionally, My Arcade’s Sonic units have attracted special attention.

The CES 2026 demonstration included a cabinet bundling Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic 3D Blast.

This model is currently available for purchase, complemented by a streamlined variant that features only Sonic and Sonic 2. One particularly noteworthy addition is the "Racing Player Portable Retro Arcade" OutRun cabinet.

Retailing at $49.99, this device includes an authentic 3.5-inch display and steering wheel—elements that enhance the arcade feel.

The unit is notable for housing both the original OutRun and its revered sequel, OutRunners, the latter of which has rarely seen faithful home releases due to technological constraints at the time of its 1993 debut.

Its absence from previous console adaptations, especially in Western markets, makes this reissue significant for collectors and fans looking to experience OutRunners in its original form. My Arcade’s collaboration with SEGA follows the trend of accessible retro experiences seen on platforms like Nintendo Switch, though these hardware-based offerings emphasize physical nostalgia and arcade authenticity.

Alongside the current range, My Arcade continues to explore partnerships with other legendary publishers, including Bandai Namco and Capcom, signaled by their recent showcase of additional handheld and arcade products at CES. With a confirmed April 2026 release date, SEGA and My Arcade are set to reintroduce some of the industry's most influential classics to a new generation of players—ensuring that the timeless appeal of OutRun, Sonic, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe will continue to thrive in the era of modern gaming hardware.
