Nintendo has published the first two installments of a new "Ask the Developer" series focused on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and the videos disclose the development team behind the Switch 2 remake. The series provides a developer-facing look at the project and confirms the studio and lead personnel responsible for bringing the classic title to Nintendo's next-generation hardware.
According to the Ask the Developer segments, the remake was produced in-house by Nintendo's Entertainment Planning & Development (EPD) Production Group No.3. Nintendo described Production Group No.3 as the internal team that has handled a wide range of Zelda projects since the early 2000s, and it served as the primary development unit for this remake.
The studio credited several key staff members by role. HokWai Ng is listed as Director on the project, marking his first directorial credit at Nintendo while also noting his previous work on Tears of the Kingdom. Aya Shida handled Art Direction, with prior credits including Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Tears of the Kingdom. Hiroki Taguchi served as Program Director and has prior involvement on Breath of the Wild. Masato Ohashi acted as Music Lead and one of the project's Sound Directors, with earlier work on titles such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass. Longtime Zelda producers Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi are both listed as producers on the remake.
Rewriting the series' on-camera statements into straightforward reporting: Nintendo confirmed the remake was developed internally by EPD Production Group No.3 rather than being outsourced, and the company credited the named staff for directing, art, programming and audio leadership. Nintendo also reaffirmed Aonuma and Fujibayashi's producer roles on the project.
Nintendo scheduled parts three and four of the Ask the Developer series to be released on 3 November, promising additional developer commentary and behind-the-scenes details. The first two parts supply the official credits and development context fans and industry observers often seek when a legacy franchise receives a modern remaster or remake.
For industry watchers, the videos offer verified personnel and production-team information that clarify who led the Switch 2 remake effort and how Nintendo positioned the project within its internal development groups.
