Nintendo continues to enrich the audio experience for fans by regularly updating its Nintendo Music app, launched in October 2023.
Since its introduction, the service—exclusive and complimentary for Nintendo Switch Online members—has steadily grown its curated library, offering gamers a chance to enjoy official tracks from Nintendo’s celebrated catalog on the go.
Developed to work seamlessly with both iOS and Android devices, the Nintendo Music app taps into the nostalgia and quality that define Nintendo’s legacy.
The latest update, rolled out today, spotlights Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the beloved 1987 action RPG for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
With this expansion, users now have access to over 16 minutes of music from the NES version of Zelda II, featuring 20 tracks that capture the adventurous spirit and distinct melodies for which the Legend of Zelda series is known.
Furthermore, fans can explore 19 additional tracks from the Famicom Disk System version, exclusive to the Japanese market at its original release.
Owing to the Famicom Disk System’s advanced audio capabilities, these tracks feature subtle compositional and tonal differences, providing both longtime fans and new listeners with a richer audio comparison and historical insight.
While this update does not introduce any specially curated playlists, the ongoing Extended-Playback Collection feature lets users enjoy select tracks in seamless loops—a valuable addition for those who appreciate immersive listening sessions.
In a translated company statement, a Nintendo representative affirmed the company's commitment to steadily expanding the app’s offerings: “We are dedicated to delivering more memorable soundtracks from across our game history to our users, with frequent updates available for all Nintendo Switch Online members.”
Nintendo Music is readily accessible for download on the App Store and Google Play.
Since its release, the app has become a popular companion for Switch Online subscribers, augmenting the core membership service that also provides access to a growing library of retro and contemporary titles via the Nintendo Switch and the eShop.
With its consistent enhancements—such as this comprehensive Zelda II: The Adventure of Link addition—Nintendo Music further strengthens the value proposition of both Switch Online and Nintendo’s suite of digital offerings.
As the catalog continues to grow, the app reaffirms Nintendo’s leadership not only in gaming, but also in interactive entertainment and music appreciation.
