SEGA and acclaimed developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have officially launched Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing two thrilling experiences to the latest generation of Nintendo hardware.

Released worldwide, this bundle delivers a definitive update to one of the most celebrated entries in the Yakuza franchise, as well as a brand-new narrative exploring the depths of Japan’s criminal underworld. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties combines an extensive remake of the classic RPG adventure with an original story featuring fan-favorite character Yoshitaka Mine.

The developers have meticulously rebuilt Yakuza 3 for Nintendo Switch 2, enhancing every aspect of the game.

Players join Kazuma Kiryu as he fights for those he loves, with the strikingly remade locales of Okinawa and Tokyo presented in vibrant detail.

The overhauled combat system introduces more dynamic and brutal encounters, while added story scenes and expanded side content provide greater depth and emotion, immersing fans deeper into the Yakuza universe. Alongside the immersive retelling of Kiryu’s journey, Dark Ties offers a never-before-seen storyline centered on Yoshitaka Mine, an iconic figure from the Yakuza lore.

After experiencing devastating loss, Mine is plunged into the perilous yakuza world, driven solely by his quest to forge authentic relationships.

This dramatic tale features exhilarating boxing-inspired combat and an array of new side activities, giving both newcomers and longtime fans fresh ways to experience the series’ signature action and storytelling. In a recent statement, representatives from SEGA highlighted their commitment to evolving classic titles for modern platforms, sharing that their "teams have worked to ensure the heart of Yakuza 3 lives on, while delivering new stories and gameplay tailored for Nintendo Switch 2 audiences." The release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties marks a significant expansion of the franchise’s reach on Nintendo platforms, underscoring SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s ongoing dedication to both existing fans and new players.
